DENVER: Over the last ten days, Donald Trump has certainly delivered on his promise to behave like a dictator from day one. His expected and devastating reign of divisive and hateful chaos has shocked the conscience of every American. ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest multi-issue progressive advocacy organization, is grateful for the Colorado leaders fighting back against baffling incompetence, tiresome hateful rhetoric, and desperately unfit Cabinet nominees.
“This morning, while the bodies of the victims were still being pulled from the wreckage, Donald Trump predictably politicized this tragedy as an opportunity to spew self-serving disinformation and point fingers at the presidential administration from 12 years ago, blaming ‘diversity’ for the worst aviation disaster in years,” said Sara Loflin, executive director of ProgressNow Colorado. “What we just saw is the reason why Colorado voters have rejected Trump in the last three presidential elections. On Monday, Trump’s outlandish attempt to stop trillions of dollars in federal funding threatened lives and livelihoods across the nation before the courts stepped in. Not only has Donald Trump’s actions in the first ten days validated Coloradans’ rejection of his shock jock politics, but he has demonstrated at shocking speed his unfitness to be President.”
“Yesterday, Sen. Michael Bennet struck a blow for sanity with his incisive and devastating questioning of RFK Jr., Trump’s horrendous choice to lead the nation’s public health system,” said Loflin. “Deftly demonstrating RFK Jr’s complete unsuitability to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, Sen. Bennet appealed directly to his Republican colleagues to intervene. The question now is how Republicans like Gabe Evans can continue to unscrupulously defend Trump’s chaos and destruction?”
