DENVER: Responding President Donald Trump’s call for the arrest and execution of lawmakers who reminded members of the United States military of their obligation to refuse illegal orders including Colorado’s Rep. Jason Crow, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest multi-issue progressive advocacy organization, released the following statement:
“Rep. Jason Crow is a Bronze Star war hero who exemplifies the finest and bravest of our service members,” said ProgressNow Colorado executive director Sara Loflin. “For Donald Trump, who dodged military service, to issue death threats against war heroes from the Oval Office is unconscionable and yet another embarrassing episode for the American people. It is unacceptable for the President of the United States to impugn the sacred service of our veterans for his own political gains.”
“At Trump’s direction, Americans are hurting, facing food insecurity and a healthcare crisis created by Trump and his cronies like Gabe Evans,” said Loflin. “This president is incompetent and lacks any fundamental decency, turning Americans against each other to distract the American people from the real harm to working families and crimes he has committed. We demand that Congressman Gabe Evans stand up for what is right–what is fundamentally American–and denounce Donald Trump’s authoritarian propaganda. We call for Trump's Cabinet to step up and end Donald Trump’s reign of terror.”
