Last night's biggest loser: Colorado's Rep. Gabe Evans

Last night’s primary elections in Colorado were momentous. Congratulations to all the winners.

But today, I’m here to talk about last night’s biggest loser: far-right MAGA Rep. Gabe Evans.

Gabe Evans was the biggest political mistake of a generation. Colorado’s Eighth Congressional District was drawn to be one of the most competitive races in America year after year–and in every election since, the district has lived up to its billing. Evenly divided between Republicans, Democrats, and unaffiliated voters, this is truly a district that looks like America, and needs a mainstream leader who can unite people across the aisle.

That will never be Gabe Evans. Instead of uniting Coloradans with a mainstream vision, Gabe Evans has become Donald Trump’s most loyal defender in Congress. From the mass deportations that have divided families and killed Americans to Trump’s disastrous trade policies that have cost businesses in the district untold millions, Gabe Evans has made excuses and lied for Trump at every step. While families in Evans’ district struggle to pay their bills and put gas in their tank, Evans celebrates the bad decisions he and Donald Trump made that are keeping prices too high.

It’s been years since Colorado has had a politician as out of touch with the needs of his constituents as Gabe Evans. Every time Evans has the opportunity to choose Colorado over Trump, he chooses Trump. Every time.

As of today, Gabe Evans is officially America’s most vulnerable incumbent member of Congress. In November, voters will have a choice between Donald Trump’s lies, hatred, and destruction with Gabe Evans as Trump’s willing agent…or something better.

We’ve got work to do. Between now and November, ProgressNow Colorado is ramping up the campaign to hold Gabe Evans accountable for two years of epic failure. Two years of broken promises. Two years of avoidable hardship. Two years that the working families of Colorado’s Eighth District can’t get back.
