Gutless Gabe Watch for the week of 3/22/2026

The war in Iran is just the latest mistake by the Trump administration, driving up costs for Colorado families. Gas prices have spiked by $1 a gallon since the war began, increasing the burden on families already paying more for healthcare and other basic necessities. But instead of helping Coloradans and fighting to bring down costs, all Gabe Evans can do is make excuses for Donald Trump.

High prices at the store are eating away at what’s left as the Trump Administration and GOP-led Congress fail to act on bringing down inflation.

• Tariff taxes and inflation are increasing the cost of groceries, clothing, home goods, electronics and more, leaving Colorado families to make difficult choices on essential purchases with what’s left in their budgets after paying all their bills.
• A few months ago, Colorado had the second-lowest gas prices in America. Now thanks to Trump's war on Iran, gas prices in Colorado are nearing $4 a gallon. Trump and Gabe Evans promised affordability but are delivering more economic pain for Colorado families.

Trump insists that the economy is “booming,” but most Colorado families aren't feeling the benefits. They are left wondering why the Trump Administration and GOP-controlled Congress aren’t fixing the problems they’re struggling with every day.

Hypocritically, Evans is blaming the budget crisis state legislators find themselves in on Governor Polis and legislative democrats instead of the billion-dollar hole Evans opened in Colorado's budget with the Big Horrible Bill.

Bringing down the cost of living is the top priority for Coloradans. Instead of doing anything about it, the Trump Administration is pushing reckless immigration enforcement, threatening to annex Greenland and calling affordability a “scam.”

This weekend, Rep. Gabe Evans took “singular credit" for his deciding vote to pass Trump's budget bill that slashed Medicaid and food assistance funding in favor of tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. Instead of recognizing the pain the unpopular Big Horrible Bill has inflicted on his constituents, Gabe Evans insists on living in Donald Trump's fantasy world.
