Proposition 137: Sales tax for conservation

Vote YES on Proposition 137

Proposition 137 suggests allotting certain sales tax revenue to conservation efforts. Proposition 137 would funnel sales tax from sporting goods toward protecting the environment. This proposition will not raise taxes or prices for sporting goods. Tax revenue would be used to conserve and maintain state land and forests, as well as for wildfire prevention and outdoor recreation.

"Colorado faces unprecedented threats to our clean water, healthy forests, and landscapes, making proactive conservation a necessity rather than an option. Hundreds of progressive voices — including Attorney General Phil Weiser, Representatives Joe Neguse and Brittany Pettersen, the Colorado Working Families Party, and Voces Uidas —are standing behind Prop137 because it offers a common-sense solution to support wildfire prevention, watershed protection, open spaces and equitable access to the outdoors."
